East Manchester is already home to a number of public sector organisations, with more and more choosing to relocate every year.

What’s attracting them is the range and scale of the space in East Manchester with the added benefit of good transport links and a great catchment area for suitable staff.

Central Park, East Manchester’s urban business hub is fast becoming a prime public sector destination, with a new Metrolink stop opening in 2011 and the relocation of both GMP's Regional and Divisional staff to new purpose-built headquarters which will be operational by the end of 2011.

Eastlands has already established itself as the prime location for national and regional sporting bodies and Sport England has taken up office space at Universal Square, one of East Manchester’s prime business hubs close to Piccadilly station.

With brownfield sites close to Piccadilly station also ripe for redevelopment, East Manchester is already being seen as a potential new site for government departments relocating from the capital. Improved public transport services with new Metrolink lines and the prospect of a new London to Manchester high speed rail link means that this is one particular sector where East Manchester is holding all the right cards.
