Once home to the city’s industrial workers, Beswick is now being reinvented as a modern day residential location.
Gone are the days of the old terraced houses as Beswick has gone from draughty back-to-backs to low-energy dream homes within a generation. New developments are providing value for money places to live, all within about a mile of Piccadilly station, with options ranging from canalside apartments to signature modern town house developments, all with good transport links and close to all amenities.
And with the new residential community comes the demand for new and better schools, with the East Manchester Academy now open. A centre of excellence for media and professions relating to the built environment, the £31.5 million new facility is already drawing people in to live in Beswick so as to be in the new academy’s catchment area.
