Eastlands has one of the biggest concentration of sporting venues in Europe, as well as acres of green space, shops and leisure facilities.
The fantastic sports facilities at Eastlands are the enduring legacy of Manchester’s highly-acclaimed 2002 Commonwealth Games. The City of Manchester Stadium is now home to Manchester City Football Club and the Team GB cycling team have made the Manchester Velodrome into the national Centre for British Cycling. In addition, Eastlands is home to the National Squash Centre, the Regional Tennis Centre and the Regional Athletics Arena.
New developments in the pipeline include a new Velopark and a national BMX Centre, currently under construction on land adjacent to the National Cycling Centre..
