This local nature reserve is a wonderful green area of reclaimed urban countryside with lots of opportunities to get out and about in the open air.
With the river Medlock running through it and lots of places to walk, cycle and explore, Clayton Vale is a little piece of the countryside right in the heart of East Manchester. The reclaimed industrial land has become a haven for wildlife with sites of special scientific interets, fishing ponds, birdlife and more.
Facilities include a network of easy-to-follow paths, a number of picnic areas and large grassy areas for walking the dog or for letting the kids run around.
