Hundreds of jobs on offer at Manchester recruitment event
Hundreds of jobs will be on offer at a JobCity jobs fair in East Manchester tomorrow, Thursday 10 February from 12-6pm at the City of Manchester Stadium at Eastlands, East Manchester.
Over 20 companies including British Gas, De Vere Hotels, Royal Bank of Scotland, Virgin Media, N Power, Co-operative Financial Services and Avon Cosmetics will be offering jobs in a range of sectors including financial services, sales, hospitality, construction, leisure and customer service.
Ian Slater, deputy chief executive for urban regeneration company New East Manchester said: “Given the current climate we’re expecting a high turn-out tomorrow. This is an excellent opportunity to bring employers and job-seekers together. There are employers attending from a variety of sectors offering a range of skilled and unskilled positions, so we hope there will something that will interest everyone who comes along.”
Career advisers and support agencies will also be on hand to offer people free help and support with applications and job searching, together with information and advice on training, volunteering and getting a job.
The Manchester College will also be there to provide information on education and training opportunities. For those interested in setting up their own business, there will be advisers from the Blue Orchid consultancy.
The JobCity event, organised by urban regeneration company New East Manchester in partnership with North Manchester Regeneration and Jobcentre Plus, will be held in the Citizens Suite at the City of Manchester Stadium. The event is free and open to anybody looking for work.
