A £4m Arts Council funded renovation has transformed this much-loved part of Manchester's music heritage into a great new performance and multimedia space. The fine Victorian bones of the building have been revealed and a new sound system has been installed, but it has kept its intimate atmosphere and is one of the best places in town for live gigs. The carpet inside is a work of art, as is the wonderful graphic equalizer light artwork on the exterior.
