The Clayton Vale Mountain Bike Trail
18/07/2012 - 18/09/2012
There is an opportunity to further enhance facilities at the National Cycling Centre by developing a world class mountain bike trail through Clayton Vale.
The National Cycling Centre, which includes the Velodrome and Indoor BMX Arena, is the home of British Cycling and an important part of East Manchester's sporting community.
The Clayton Vale Mountain Bike Trail will be a 9km network of trails that can be combined to form a variety of routes of varying lengths and difficulty. The trail will be the first of its kind in the UK and will attract Manchester residents, as well as mountain bike enthusiasts from across Greater Manchester and beyond. It will also host regional and national mountain bike events.
The system of trails will be designed to allow Clayton Vale to continue to be used as part of the local pedestrian and cycle network. The trails will complement the local landscape and will not have a significant impact on Clayton Vale's natural environment or wildlife.
It is important that we get your views on plans for the Clayton Vale Mountain Bike Trial and the existing facilities at the National Cycling Centre.
