New Sixth Form College to open in Beswick
08/08/2012 - 24/12/2012
The Regeneration of East Manchester has been given a fantastic boost after the confirmation of funding for a new Sixth Form College in Beswick.
With plans to offer 600 student places from September 2013, the new Connell College will provide an exciting learning opportunity for 16 to 19 year olds in the area.
The College will be named after the Connell family who founded Manchester City Football Club. Since the late 1800s Manchester City Football Club (MCFC) has built a deep and lasting relationship with communities across Manchester and this work continues today. MCFC are donating the land on which the college will be built and approximately 50 places will be allocated to scholars at the Manchester City Football Academy.
The school will be run by the Bright Futures Education Trust which includes staff from Altrincham Grammar School for Girls. More information about plans for Connell College together with practical information about how and when to apply, can be found at the Conell Sixth Form College website.
